Reliance Industries Limited

Reliance is one of the biggest companies in India. They are into different businesses for a long time. Reliance is working very hard to achieve the target of net zero emissions by the end of the year 2035. They are working very hard and are investing a lot of resources, energy, and time in setting up a comprehensive ecosystem in order to reduce their carbon emissions.

In a report, they mentioned that Reliance is investing more than 10 billion dollars in the next 5 years to move towards sustainability and a greener environment and ecosystem. Reliance is constructing the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Jamnagar which will cover more than 5,000 acres. Reliance is also partnering with different sustainable companies which will assist them in this project. They are partnering with leading companies such as Lithium Werks, Faradion, REC Solar Holding, and many more.

GAIL

GAIL is another leading hydrogen company that is working in India right now. They are also planning to build the largest green hydrogen plant in India by the end of 2023. They will be building this plant in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, India. This plant will be a PEM-based project which will support the production of green hydrogen.

This plant will have a capacity of producing 4.3 tons of green hydrogen per day. This hydrogen will be supplied to various industries which can be utilized for various purposes. GAIL’s hydrogen plant will be the largest hydrogen energy generation plant in India right now.

National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC)

NTPC is a government-controlled and one of the largest electricity generation units in India. NTPC has decided to set up a hydrogen production plant and to spread their operation towards helping India to achieve net zero emission. They are planning to set up a floating solar project which will generate hydrogen using solar energy. This will have a 240-kilowatt solid oxide electrolyzer. This green hydrogen can be used by various industries for various purposes.

Indian Oil Corporation

Indian Oil Corporation is another one of the biggest companies operating in India. Like other leading companies, the Indian oil corporation is also not far behind in the race for producing green hydrogen. They are working very hard to adopt hydrogen fuel for at least 10% of their total fuel consumption.

They are also working to electrify their fleets in order to reduce their carbon footprints. Indian Oil is setting up new refineries in Mathura and Panipat. By the end of the year 2025, both of their new refineries will be operative. At the end of 2025, they have decided to achieve five gigawatts of renewable electricity generation.

Larson and Toubro

L&T is one of the leading construction companies in India after Tata projects. They are operational in every part of India. Recently, in a report, it was mentioned that they are emitting a lot of carbon dioxide and carbon footprints in the environment. Following the footsteps of other leading companies, they have also decided to set up a green hydrogen plant in the Hazira district in Gujarat, India.

Their plan is to produce 45 kg of green hydrogen every day which can be commercially used. This production plant will have a 990 kilowatt DC capacity and a 500-kilowatt battery energy storage system which will together be used to generate power.

Adani New Industries Limited

Adani Group is one of the leading companies in India which are into different businesses. It is one of the biggest names in India’s energy and power sector. Recently, they announced that they are going to spend more than 50 billion dollars in order to supplement green hydrogen capacity. Adani has entered into a partnership with Total Energy which is a French company to produce one metric ton of green hydrogen on a monthly basis in the next 2 to 3 years.
